Disney Buys Lucasfilm which includes rights to Star Wars and Indiana Jones!

Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger announced today The Walt Disney Company is acquiring Lucasfilm, the company founded by George Lucas and home to the mega “Star Wars" franchise!  Included in the $4.05 billion purchase are the rights to its franchises, stories, and businesses including Industrial Light and Magic and Skywalker Sound.

 it has also been announced that a seventh “Star Wars” film is in development for release in 2015: STAR WARS: EPISODE 7,  In a conference call, Bob Iger revealed Star Wars Episode 8 and Episode 9 will follow, expecting a new film “every 2-3 years.” Iger also noted Episode 7 is in “early stage development right now.

In addition, Star Wars shows are being developed for TV, with Iger noting the Disney XD would be a good place for them.

How Disney Does Bus Wraps

Ever wonder how Disney gets those designs on their buses?  Disney finds professional  sign makers to create designs for the bus. This technique is called bus wrapping. It has been used back to the early 20th century in order to advertise businesses. Did you know that Disney owns over 260 buses at Disney World? Also, one bus estimates to travel about 52,000 miles a year.
To create a bus wrap you simply just add a special film design over the bus. It only takes a few hours to complete a full bus wrap. The two bus wraps that you see here was created by one of the Signworld owners. Ken Kindt is the founder of this company which he teaches his team on how to create amazing bus wraps like these.

Test Track to reopen December 6 at Epcot

Today Walt Disney World announced the date when the updated version of Test Track will reopen at Epcot.  The new Test Track and New Fantasyland will have the same grand opening on December 6, 2012.


It’s likely Test Track will soft open prior to December 6, but as with most soft openings nothing is guaranteed
